Did you eat your Breakfast?   by Ana

Do not skip breakfast; it is truly the most important meal of the day. Most of us with our hectic schedules tend to skip breakfast and think that it does not matter, well it does. Your all day energy depends on your breakfast.

When you do not eat breakfast your body lacks the necessary fuel to perform even the simplest tasks. In the middle of the morning you will feel tired and reach for a sugary fix, this will help you feel better for a while, but since your body has no adequate nourishment the vicious cycle will continue. You will feel tired and gain weight as you reach over and over for quick fixes that contain little substance.

People tend to think that not eating breakfast will make them lose weight, this is a misconception. Your body feels that there are not enough nutrients and instead of getting rid of some weight by consuming those extra calories, it starts a plan in which it tries to save every single calorie for later, as it does not know when it will be fed again.

If you want to manage your weight, start with a healthy breakfast, feed your body and nourish it properly. It will love you back. Stay away from empty calories like white bread and sugary cereals and pastries, their nutritional content is very poor and you will be hungry very soon.

The cornerstone of a healthy breakfast is protein; try some eggs or dairy, beans or tofu. Add some fiber to feel full and energized, this can include whole grain cereals or whole wheat toast. Add some fruit to round up your meal, vitamins and fitonutrients are essential, you can add it to the cereal or create a smoothie. Drink some orange juice with calcium and smile. You are on your way for a healthier day.
